In a matchup of teams featuring two of the NFL's most exciting young quarterbacks, the Washington Redskins opened as 3½-point favorites over the Carolina Panthers.
Washington's Robert Griffin III and Carolina's Cam Newton were the top picks in the 2012 and 2011 NFL Drafts, respectively. While Griffin and Newton have showcased their immense talent at times this season, the Redskins and Panthers have struggled, combining for four wins and 11 losses.
The over/under opened at 46, which may be a little low. The Redskins rank seventh in the NFL, averaging 26.6 points per game, and neither team provides much resistance to opposing offenses. Carolina allows 23.9 points per game, which ranks 21st in the league, and Washington gives up 28.4 points, which ranks 28th.
The Redskins and Panthers meet Sunday, Nov. 4 at Washington's FedEx Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised by FOX. For a complete listing of NFL betting lines, check out SB Nation's NFL odds hub.
