Virginia Tech vs. Miami 2012: TV schedule, game time, spread and more

Frank Beamer's Hokies will look to go above .500 with a win against Miami.

The Virginia Tech Hokies will travel to Florida on Thursday to take on the Miami Hurricanes in Sun Life Stadium.

Virginia Tech has had a disappointing year to this point with a 4-4 record. Frank Beamer's club was thought by many to be a dark horse in the ACC, coming into the season ranked. However, things have fallen apart mostly because of some very bad defense at times.

Last week, the Hokies were pummeled, 38-17, by the No. 19 Clemson Tigers on the road, despite outgaining Clemson 406-295 in total yards. The undoing was rooted in four turnovers, including three Logan Thomas interceptions.

Miami comes into the duel with an identical 4-4 mark. The Hurricanes have been led by freshman running back sensation Duke Johnson, who's averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Lately, nothing has gone right for the Hurricanes, who have lost three straight and look like a team trending downwards. In fairness, two of the losses have come to the third-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish and No. 9 Florida State Seminoles.
