The two best teams in the ACC are separated by a single place in the Week 12 edition of the BCS standings, with Florida State and Clemson coming in at No. 10 and No. 11, respectively.

The Seminoles stayed steady at the No. 10 spot after a last-minute touchdown by Rashad Greene gave them a 28-22 victory over Virginia Tech. The Tigers crushed Maryland and moved up two spots from No. 11. Who has the higher ranking in the polls doesn't really matter - only one team will have an opportunity to represent the conference in the ACC Championship game, and in case of a tie - which seems likely as both are 9-1 with just two regular season games left - Florida State will have a chance to play for a BCS berth against the winner of the Coastal Division. However, the team that doesn't will want to win out stay in the top 14 of the standings and potentially receive an at-large berth to a BCS game.

Alabama fell to No. 4 in the standings after dropping their first game of the year to Texas A&M. Undefeated Kansas State and Oregon are in line to play in the BCS National Championship game if they win out, with Notre Dame at No. 3 hoping for one of the squads ahead of them to lose.
