The Texas State Bobcats have had a problem with giving up points this year, and they will have their hands full when they step out of WAC play to face the Navy Midshipmen on Saturday in Annapolis, Md.
Navy comes into the game bowl-eligible with six wins, but the Midshipmen saw a five-game winning streak snapped last week against Troy. They also own the sixth-best rushing offense in the country, averaging 273.3 yards per game on the ground. Gee Gee Greene paces the Midshipmen's rushing attack, covering 7½ yards per carry and 679 yards total this season. Keenan Reynolds, meanwhile, has rushed for a team-high nine touchdowns.
The Bobcats enter this one 3-6 and would need to win out to become eligible for the postseason. They're riding a three-game losing streak, including a seven-point loss last weekend to No. 20 Louisiana Tech -- a game in which they surrendered 62 points.
Shaun Rutherford will be the man leading Texas State's offense. The senior quarterback has thrown for 11 touchdowns this season.
This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.
