Georgia Southern vs. Maryland: Terrapins cruise to victory over Eagles

The Maryland Terrapins moved to 4-1 on the season following their 70-53 victory over the Georgia Southern Eagles.

The Maryland Terrapins picked up an easy win against an overmatched opponent, defeating the Georgia Southern Eagles 70-53. The Eagles kept the game close for awhile, only trailing 29-26 at half, but the Terrapins ran away with the game in the second period, outscoring the Eagles by 14.

Maryland received balanced scoring Saturday, with five players in double-figures. Charles Mitchell picked up a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Logan Aronhalt scored 12 points in only 15 minutes of playing time, while Nick Faust added 11 points and five assists. Shaquille Cleare and Alex Len each had 10 points, and the pair combined for 12 rebounds.

Georgia Souther guard C.J Reed led all scorers with 15 points, adding five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Eric Ferguson scored 13 points for the Eagles, while Tre Bussey was the only other Georgia Southern player to score in double-digits, chipping in 11 points.
