The American U. Eagles lost on Saturday, falling to the Florida Atlantic Owls 58-55. The game was tightly contested, as neither team gained a lead in the double-digits, but a late three by Owls guard Stefan Moody buried the Eagles.

Stephen Lumpkins led the Eagles with 17 points, shooting 6-11 from the field and grabbing seven rebounds as well. Tony Wroblicky added 14 points and seven rebounds, while John Schoof chipped in 12 points. The American bench failed to contribute, as four Eagles' players combined to score two points off the bench.

Greg Gantt led all scorers with 23 points, draining five three pointers and shooting a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe. Jackson Trapp was the only other Florida Atlantic player to score in double-digits, as he added 12 points and six assists. Moody only scored six points off the bench, but his late three proved clutch for the Owls.
