Wizards fan breaks up with team, shows Fireman Ed how it's done

Wizards fan Adam Gerloff doesn't just burn the bridge, he napalms it.

The biggest story on this Monday after Thanksgiving (we refuse to call it "Cyber Monday," because seriously), at least according to our corner of the Internet, is Fireman Ed stepping away from his role as unofficial mascot of the New York Jets. Some are more broken up about this than others.

But Fireman Ed is a piker compared to Adam Gerloff. Who is Adam Gerloff, you ask? According to his Twitter account, he's a teacher and father of two kids who lives in Brooklyn. According to our buddies at Truth About It, to whom Adam sent the below video, Gerloff's a Northern Virginia native who has followed the team since the late 1980s. But apparently, Saturday night's double-overtime loss by the Wizards to the Bobcats sent Adam over the edge, as he shows in this video (try to ignore that fact that the man looks like Mike Breen's little brother.)

Before you cast stones at Adam, here are three things you need to know about Saturday's game, in case you missed it.

1. Three Bobcats (Ben Gordon, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and Jeffery Taylor) fouled out. You know how hard it is for three guys on the same NBA team to foul out in a game?

2. Kemba Walker went 3-for-17 from the field. Three. For Seventeen.

3. The Wizards still lost. At home. In double overtime.

4. By contrast, Blatche aside, the Nets are 8-4, second in the Atlantic Division, are playing their games in Adam's hood (he's been in New York since 1997), and the Barclays Center has become a hotter Big Apple spot than Bryant Park during Fashion Week.

So ... how about those Redskins?
