Spurs vs. Wizards halftime score update: San Antonio leads, 60-48

After one half in Chinatown, the San Antonio Spurs lead the Washington Wizards, 60-48. The Spurs are shooting nearly 58 percent from the floor, and poured in 31 points in the second quarter as they pushed their lead to double digits. San Antonio has long been a model of offensive efficiency and ball movement under Gregg Popovich, and they cut through the Washington defense in the first 24 minutes and tallied 16 assists. Eight players shot better than 47 percent with consistent open looks coming from swinging the ball and catching the Wizards off-guard in their rotations. Add in some hot second-quarter shooting, and the Spurs easily weathered a solid start by the Wizards and finished the half on a 10-0 run.

Kevin Seraphin was a bright spot on the offensive end for Washington, finishing the first half with 10 points and four boards. Seraphin has caused moderate problems for the San Antonio frontcourt, and A.J. Price was four for five in the backcourt for 11 points. Martell Webster leads all Wizards scorers with 13 points in 15 first half minutes. Randy Wittman continues to search for various five-man combinations and a rotation which can provide any consistency, and it appears that Webster has the hot hand against the Spurs.

But Washington will have to get stops on the defensive end if they want to cut into the deficit and make it a game in the second half.
