Virginia vs. NC State score: Phillip Sims, Michael Rocco both score TDs, Cavs lead, 14-0

Virginia Cavaliers quarterbacks have been the difference makers so far, as the Cavaliers lead the N.C. State Wolfpack after the first quarter, 14-0.

Phillip Sims scrambled for a 1-yard touchdown run, giving Virginia a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter.

Sims wasn't the only Virginia quarterback scoring early on Saturday. Michael Rocco connected with Darius Jennings for an 18-yard touchdown strike with 1:20 left to go in the first quarter, extending Virginia's lead to 14-0.

Virginia's two-quarterback attack was apparently planned, and thus far, it's worked, as Sims and Rocco are each 4-for-4 passing.

As the 14-0 score reflects, Virginia has dominated play in the first quarter, outgaining the Wolfpack 157-38 in total yards. The Cavaliers have run more than double the amount of offensive plays N.C. State has, running 23 first quarter plays compared to just 10 for the Wolfpack.

Virginia has rushed for 65 first quarter yards as well, led by Kevin Parks' 29 yards on seven carries. Perry Jones has carried the ball three times for 24 yards.
