San Jose State Spartans' head coach Mike MacIntyre has been reportedly hired by Colorado and it is not clear yet whether he will coach the Spartans when they come to town for the Military bowl.
MacIntyre has been selected as the replacement for Jon Embree who was recently fired after going 4-21 in his two seasons as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes.
In three seasons, MacIntyre has elevated San Jose State from a team that went 1-12 in 2010 to finishing No. 24 in both polls this season. The Spartans finished the 2012 regular season with a 10-2 record, their only losses coming to Stanford and Utah St.
According to the Denver Post report, there is a press conference scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on the Colorado campus to introduce MacIntyre.
Whether or not MacIntyre will remain on to coach the bowl game, the Spartans are set to meet the Bowling Green Falcons on Dec. 27 at RFK Stadium in the Military Bowl.
