The No. 2 Maryland Terrapins and the No. 3 Georgetown Hoyas will meet in the semi-final of the College Cup in Hoover, AL on Friday.
Georgetown is advancing to their first men's soccer semi-final in school history, while Maryland has made 12 semi-finals. The Hoyas defeated the University of San Diego to advance to the final four, while the Terrapins prevailed over the Louisville Cardinals.
Maryland has never lost to Georgetown in men's soccer, owning a 28-0 overall record. The two team's last met in 2009, with the Terrapins winning 2-1.
The Terrapins are the country's leading offense, averaging 2.61 goals-per-game. Georgetown has scored 39 goals this season, while Maryland scored 60.
Terrapins midfielder Patrick Mullins is Maryland's top-player, and is one of the front runners for the MAC-Hermann Trophy. Hoyas forward Steve Neumann is also one of the fifteen finalists for the top award in soccer.
