CAA Reaches Five-Year Broadcast Agreement With NBC Sports Group

The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced Monday that it had signed a five-year agreement with NBC Sports Group to provide coverage of conference football and basketball games on the NBC Sports Network and Comcast SportsNet.

The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) announced Monday that it had signed a five-year agreement with NBC Sports Group to provide coverage of conference football and basketball games on the NBC Sports Network and Comcast SportsNet. The agreement would also provide for streaming coverage of other CAA sports on NBCSports.com

CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager announced the new arrangement Monday afternoon.

“We are thrilled to be associated with the NBC Sports Group,” Yeager said in a statement. “The NBC Sports Network now provides a national platform to elevate the conference in conjunction with the relationship we’ve had with the Comcast SportsNets, which have been the foundation of our television package for almost three decades.”

Under the terms of the agreement, which begins next season, at least 12 CAA men's basketball games would be aired on NBC Sports Network (formerly known as VS), including the semifinals and finals of the CAA Tournament. The quarterfinals would be aired on CSN. NBC Sports Network is also obligated to televise at least five CAA football games every fall. 39 men's and women's basketball games, and 13 football games would be aired on CSN.

The agreement marks the first time ever that both the semifinals and finals of the CAA Tournament will be nationally televised.
