Coming off their most thrilling win of the season, George Mason hosts the Lamar Cardinals at the Patriot Center in Fairfax on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals are among the top three teams in the Southland Conference, which was predicted to be among the worst leagues in Division One this season. It's likely a one-bid league and the Mason is favored by seven points.

The Cardinals are paced by the senior guard duo of Anthony Miles and Mike James, who average a combined 31 points per game. Lamar likes to play a fast-paced game, putting up shots in bunches and averaging more than 75 points per game. They have played some high-level competition this season, but were blown out by Louisville, Ohio State, and Kentucky.
While it's a crucial last-chance BracketBuster opportunity for many other mid-majors around the country, Mason could be walking into a trap game after their 40-minute war against VCU on Tuesday night. Sherrod Wright's running buzzer-beater from thirty feet put Mason in first place in the Colonial Athletic Association. They'll look rely on superstar Ryan Pearson and continue their successful season out of the conference on Saturday afternoon.
