Bucknell Vs. American: First Place In Patriot League Up For Grabs

The American Eagles have a shot at first place in the Patriot League when they host the Bucknell Bison on Thursday night.

The Patriot League regular season title could be up for grabs tonight when American University will host Bucknell. The Bison have a one game lead over American, but a win tonight could give them a tie and the potential to win the league in their final game. The game starts at 7 pm.

These two teams have already played once this year and it resulted in a tough American loss at Bucknell late in January. The Bison needed a 21 points from Mike Muscala and 13 points from Bryson Johnson off the bench to just barely edge the Eagles 67-61. But if the Eagles had just made a few more of their shots they could have been right in this one. They shot under 40% while allowing the Bison to shoot above 50%, and you don't win a lot of games that way.

With just one more game left on the schedule against Lafayette, which should be a win, the Eagles' season likely comes down to this rematch with Bucknell.

We'll have plenty more on this game throughout the day on SB Nation D.C., but for more on this and every NCAAB game, check out the SB Nation College Basketball game.
