NFL Draft 2012 Rumors: Rams And Redskins Have Discussed Second Pick, According To Report

As the 2012 NFL Scouting Combine continues to take place over the weekend, teams are not only taking this opportunity to evaluate potential draftees, but also to meet with one another about possible draft trades, and yes Redskins fans, another outlet is reporting the St. Louis Rams have had at least preliminary discussions with the Washington Redskins regarding the No. 2 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. That pick presumably would be used on Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Via Tony Pauline of TFY DraftInsider.net:

The word in Indianapolis is the St Louis Rams will do everything possible to move the second pick of the draft. We hear there have been exploratory talks with the Washington Redskins in the early going.

The Redskins desperately seek an upgrade at quarterback for next season, and Griffin would certainly be one. The Cleveland Browns are the other team reported to be hot to trade up to No. 2, and they currently have better trading chips to offer in terms of draft picks than the Redskins, so only time will tell how this all shakes out.
