Washington Nationals uber prospect Bryce Harper has been in the news quite a bit of late, with none of the press actually dealing with his potential on the field. Harper's rooting interests have drawn the ire of many in the greater Washington DC area, as his team choices don't exactly mesh with the rooting interests of some Nationals fans. Harper even suggested he'd like to, gasp, have some fun off the field like former Jets great Joe Namath. Well, it appears his teammates in Viera are having a little fun with that comment. See for yourself, after the jump.
Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post tweeted this nugget on Saturday morning:
Pretty amazing: the name placard above Bryce Harper's locker reads "JOE NAMATH 12." In seriousness, that playful ribbing says something.

If his teammates are having fun with the kid, maybe media types should simmer down for a bit with the daily criticisms. It seems Harper's sometimes brash demeanor isn't having a negative effect on the locker room, at least not down in Viera. Now I'm just waiting for the first Thomas Boswell "Broadway Bryce Harper" column.
