NFL Draft 2012 Rumors: Redskins Willing To Deal Two First Rounders For Robert Griffin III, According To Report

The Washington Redskins have been linked for what seems like forever with possibly drafting Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. Now it seems like there is at least a possible price for what the Redskins may pay if they indeed trade up for the No. 2 overall pick now that the St. Louis Rams are committed to trading the pick according to a report from Washington Post Redskins insider Mike Jones.

The Washington Redskins are prepared to part with two first-round draft picks, plus other selections in the early and middle rounds, to secure the St. Louis Rams' No. 2 pick in April's draft and land Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III, according to people with knowledge of the situation.

The payment for trading up to the No. 2 overall draft pick is said to be similar compensation to what the New York Giants paid to the San Diego Chargers to draft Eli Manning in 2004. While Robert Griffin III is a popular choice, the question needs to be asked whether or not the Redskins, with other needs on the offensive line, secondary and wide receiver positions, would be giving up too much to draft Griffin.
