According to a press release that was just sent out by the Redskins media relations department, the International friendly between USA and Brazil set to take place at FedEx Field that has been rumored for a while is now official. The release says that both teams will bring their "A" Teams and that the best players in either Nation are scheduled to attend. The release also mentions the possibility of another big fixture coming to FedEx later this Year.
"This is a great opportunity for sports fans to see the U.S. Men’s National Team play one of the world’s most prestigious and iconic soccer teams in our nation’s capital," said Redskins Chief Marketing Officer Mitch Gershman. "During the past few years, we have shown a commitment to bringing high-profile and international events to the Washington, D.C. region. We have already begun discussions to host another major international soccer match at FedExField in late July."
This should be a great opportunity for the Soccer fans of the Nation's Capital to see their team, because this is the first time they will be playing at FedEx. Bringing in a team with as much experience and tradition as Brazil only adds to the event. Tickets will go on sale for the event on February 17th on TicketMaster.
