March Madness 2012: VCU Leads Indiana 42-41 After Fast-Paced First Half

Shaka Smart and his No. 12 seed VCU Rams are one half away from back-to-back appearances in the Sweet 16. The Rams lead the No. 4 seed Indiana Hoosiers 42-41 at the half in their South Regional Round of 32 matchup, courtesy of 12 points and three rebounds from Bradford Burgess and seven points from Troy Daniels.

Both teams are shooting at a ridiculous clip. VCU has made 16 of 29 shots, good for 55.2 percent shooting from the floor. Indiana is an even more obscene 16 of 24 in the half, a 66.7 shooting percentage. VCU has only turned the ball over four times, while Indiana has coughed it up nine times in the first half.

Freshman sensation Cody Zeller has paced the Hoosiers, scoring 10 points on four of four shooting. Guard Victor Oladipo has chipped in four points, three rebounds and five assists for Tom Crean's club. The Hoosiers have 10 assists on their 16 made field goals in the first half.

A win Saturday evening would be VCU's seventh in their last eight tournament games. Indiana is looking to win and advance to their first Sweet Sixteen since 2002.
