Wizards Vs. Celtics Recap: Washington Cannot Overcome Slow Start In 12-Point Loss To Boston

The Washington Wizards dropped their third straight game on Sunday night, falling 88-76 to the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. The Wizards shot terribly over the first two-plus quarters but cut it to eight after trailing by as many as 25 points. But they could never get it close to a one-possession game down the stretch. This game finished the season series with the Celtics -- a Boston sweep and perfect 4-0 record.

The Celts clinched the win behind an unexpected performance from Avery Bradley, who had a career-high 23 points. Paul Pierce added 21 points for Doc Rivers, which included a big step-back three-pointer down the stretch when Washington was threatening to make it close.

The Wizards were without Nene, who sat out after experiencing back spasms. Kevin Serephin filled in nicely with a double-double effort, scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 boards. Jordan Crawford led all scorers with 20 points while backcourt partner John Wall added 12 points and nine assists in his matchup against Rajon Rondo.

Randy Wittman's club now returns home to play the Pistons on Monday night at Verizon Center.
