The selection committee for the 2012 Women's NCAA Tournament should be applauded, as all four of their selections as No. 1 seeds will meet in Denver on Sunday when Final Four play begins. This is only the second time in the history of the women's tournament that all four No. 1 seeds have advanced to the Final Four.
The first contest Sunday evening begins at 6:30 p.m. ET and will have a Big East flavor to it. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, coming off a demolition of Maryland, will take on the Connecticut Huskies, who defeated Kentucky in the Elite 8 to reach Denver.
The late game, tipping at approximately 8:30 p.m. ET, will see Brittney Griner and the Baylor Bears take on the Stanford Cardinal. Baylor defeated Tennessee in a physical affair to make it to Denver, while Stanford easily handled Duke in Elite 8 play.
