The Virginia Cavaliers wrapped up their 2012 spring game and saw some of their offensive playmakers pick up some big plays on the day. Running back Khalek Shepherd showed off his explosiveness ending the day with four carriers for 102 rushing yards and a touchdown. Towards the end of the game Shepherd ripped off a 76-yard touchdown run.
Junior quarterback Michael Rocco also had a nice day at the spring game, completing 12-of-21 passes for 194 passing yards. Rocco completed a couple of long passes down the field and overall had a solid day of practice. Running back Perry Jones had just 7 carries for 26 yards, but did finish the game with two rushing touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the football, defensive tackle Justin Renfrow showed off some of his pass rushing ability and picked up two sacks in the game. LaRoy Reynolds led the defensive in tackles with eight while Tucker Windle finished up with three tackles and a sack.
