Late in the third period of the Washington Capitals' Game 2 opening round playoff contest with the Boston Bruins, Caps forward Nicklas Backstrom made the mistake of apparently coming too close to Boston goaltender Tim Thomas's crease. Thomas' reaction to the perceived intrusion of his territory? Dropping his blocker and throwing a full-on punch at Backstrom. Classy. No penalty was called.
After the jump, check out Mr. Thomas' underhanded handiwork.
