NCAA Lacrosse Rankings: Virginia Regains No. 1 Ranking, Maryland Drops To No. 12

After Johns Hopkins faltered against North Carolina on Saturday, 13-9, they dropped out of the top spot and fell to No. 3 in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse top 20 poll. The Virginia Cavaliers who scored a 12-8 victory over the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday regained their spot at the top of the lacrosse rankings. Maryland dropped to No. 12 in the lacrosse rankings after their loss.

The Loyola Greyhounds climbed up a spot to No. 4, also receiving three first place votes in the process. The Greyhounds beat Ohio State, 8-7 on Saturday.

Other local teams in the top 20 include the Towson University Tigers breaking into the top 20 settling in at No. 19. The Tigers earned wins over Delaware and Hofstra to get into the top 20.

Other local teams receiving votes include Georgetown and Navy who fell out of the top 20 after losses during the week. University of Maryland Baltimore County also received votes in this week's poll.
