The Miami Marlins will be making their first trip to the nation's capitol in 2012 for a three-game series against the Washington Nationals that features an intriguing Friday night pitching match-up.
For the Nationals, Ross Detwiler will take to the hill looking to keep the Nationals' hot start going. He is coming off of a decent start on Sunday where he allowed one earned run on six hits in five innings against the Cincinnati Reds. He will need to be careful, as the Marlins have had a knack for finding ways to win at Nationals Park, where they went 7-2 in 2011 and hold a 26-8 mark all-time.
As for the Marlins, they will start the always unpredictable Carlos Zambrano on the mound. He has yet to record a decision in 2012 and has a 3.75 ERA. His starts have been full of ups and downs, including his last one, where he walked six Houston Astros batters. He will have his hands full with a much-improved Washington lineup that has been hitting the ball well this season.
Here is the Nationals lineup for Friday
Ian Desmond- SS
Danny Espinosa- 2B
Ryan Zimmerman- 3B
Adam LaRoche- 1B
Jayson Werth- RF
Xavier Nady- LF
Rick Ankiel- CF
Jesus Flores- C
Ross Detwiler- P
