ACC Lacrosse Tournament 2012: Maryland Falls To Duke, 6-5 In Semifinal

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Maryland Terrapins 6-5 in semifinal action of the 2012 ACC Lacrosse Tournament.

The 2012 ACC Lacrosse semifinals are underway, and in the first game the Duke Blue Devils were able to take down the Maryland Terrapins, 6-5.

The Blue Devils led for most of the game, albeit by a slim margin. After the two were tied at 2-2 after one quarter, Duke was able to take a 4-3 lead into the locker room at halftime. Duke then saw their lead grow to 5-3 and 6-4 in the second half, but Maryland did not go down without a fight.

The Blue Devils were led by Josh Dionne who scored three goals. Blue Devils goalie Dan Wigritzer made 10 saves.

For Maryland, Mike Chanenchuck led the team with two goals. Goalie Niko Amato made seven saves.

The Blue Devils will take on the winner of the UNC-Virginia game being played later this evening.
