Seth Greenberg Fired: North Carolina State's Bobby Lutz Draws Interest From Virginia Tech

The search for the new head coach of the Virginia Tech Hokies men's basketball team is in full force as officials are looking for the man to replace former head coach Seth Greenberg. One man that officials have talked to is North Carolina State Wolfpack associate head coach Bobby Lutz according to a post by Mark Gianotto of the Washington Post.

One such person is North Carolina State associate head coach Bobby Lutz, who met with Virginia Tech officials Thursday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C., according to multiple people familiar with the coaching search who were granted anonymity to speak freely.

Lutz coached for 12 seasons for the Charlotte 49ers, amassing a 218-158 record with five NCAA tournament appearances. He remains the winningest coach in Charlotte history after being fired from there in 2010.

Other coaches that have reportedly reached out to Virginia Tech, either directly or through a third party, include Loyola, Md. Greyhounds' Jimmy Patsos, American Eagles' Jeff Jones, Eastern Michigan Eagles' Rob Murphy and North Carolina Tar Heels' assistant Steve Robinson.
