American golfer Dustin Johnson has withdrawn from the 2012 Masters Tournament due to a lower back injury.
First I have to apologize to the fans and sponsors. With heartfelt regret, I won't be playing in the Masters due to a tweaked back. #imsorry

One of the best young golfers on the PGA Tour, the 27-year-old Johnson has five career wins, as well as three top ten finishes in 2012. Bovada had listed him as a 40-1 shot to win the tournament.
Johnson has developed a reputation for being a nearly man in major tournaments, but he has never excelled at Augusta. His best finish came in 2009, when he finished in a tie for 30th, 11 shots behind eventual winner Angel Cabrera.
