NCAA Women's Championship, Baylor Vs. Notre Dame: Irish Cut Bears' Lead To Six At Half

The undefeated Baylor Bears lead Notre Dame by as many as 14 points in the first half of the 2012 Women's NCAA Championship, but the Fighting Irish went on a run to cut the lead to six points at halftime. The Bears have had a huge advantage in the frontcourt and in the paint, crashing the glass for 11 offensive rebounds and 25 boards in the first half alone. Brittney Griner leads all Baylor scorers with nine points, while also grabbing eight rebounds on her way to a double-double effort.

The All-American Skylar Diggins leads the Irish with nine points, but she's had little help from her teammates who are shooting less than 40 percent. The Irish are just one of eight from behind the arc so far. Notre Dame will have to hit some shots from outside if they want to spoil Baylor's run at a history-making 40-0 record.
