2012 Masters Scores: Lee Westwood Leads By One Shot After First Round At Augusta

England's Lee Westwood is alone in first place after the first round of the 2012 Masters Tournament after shooting a 5-under par 67 Thursday.

Westwood, the No. 3 player in the world, is one shot ahead of Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa and Peter Hanson of Sweden. Seven other players are lurking two shots behind Westwood at 3-under par, including Scotland's Paul Lawrie and Spain's Miguel Angel Jimenez.

Tiger Woods finished his round with back-to-back bogeys, but still managed an even-par 72, as did defending champion Charl Schwartzel. Phil Mickelson had less luck on the day, recording a two-over par 74. However, Mickelson's day could have been a lot worse after a triple bogey at the 10th hole dropped him to four-over.

Rory McIlroy, the 2011 U.S. Open Champion and 54-hole leader at Augusta last year, finished his round with back-to-back birdies to record a 1-under par 71, while world No. 1 Luke Donald struggled to an opening-round 75 and briefly faced the threat of disqualification after his scorecard was called into question.
