Mike Jones of The Washington Post is reporting that the Redskins are showing interest in safety Madieu Williams.
According to Jones, Williams visited the Redskins on Friday and was offered a contract to come play in Washington. If the name sounds familiar, Williams played for the Maryland Terrapins and has donated $2 million to the university in 2009 to begin the Madieu Williams Center for Global Health Initiatives. He was awarded the 2011 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
The 2011 season was a bit of a disappointment for Williams who had just nine tackles and no interceptions in 15 games with the San Francisco 49ers. Williams was a second-round pick in the 2004 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
