The Washington Wizards, losers of five games in a row, continue to sink deeper into the standings abyss with each passing game, but the good (tepid?) news is that with each enthusiasm-sapping loss Washington (12-44) earns more chances in the 2012 NBA Draft Lottery.
The Wizards played four games last week, losing on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. Washington lost by less than double digits in just one of those games, a 99-94 defeat at the hands of the Detroit Pistons, and even in that game the Wiz trailed by 20 points.
Washington has 10 games remaining in the season, split between home and road contests. Charlotte is on that slate twice, as are the Cleveland Cavaliers. It is possible the Wizards might actually pick up a win or two before the season ends, ultimately altering their 2012 draft fate, thus being a "very Wiz" thing to do.
The 2012 Wizards Final Ten begin Monday night in Charlotte, tip off scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
