NCAA Lacrosse Rankings: Virginia Holds Onto No. 1 Ranking, Maryland Rises To No. 10

The Virginia Cavaliers held onto their No. 1 ranking in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse top 20 poll thanks to a 15-10 victory over now-No. 9 North Carolina on Saturday. The Cavaliers received 18 first place votes and look to have a firm grip on the top spot barring any other missteps. The Maryland Terrapins rose two spots to No. 10 in the rankings after a 13-6 win over Navy on April 6.

Both Johns Hopkins and Loyola (Md.) were ranked No. 3 and No. 4 respectively, staying where the two teams were ranked last week. The Blue Jays received one first place vote while the Greyhounds received three.

No other local teams made the top 20 this week. After losing to Massachusetts 14-3 on Saturday, the Towson Tigers dropped out of the top 20 but are still receiving votes for the poll. Navy is also still receiving votes in the top 20 poll even after the loss to Maryland.
