The No. 2 seed Johns Hopkins Blue Jays (11-3) welcome the Stony Brook Seawolves (7-9) to Homewood Field on Sunday afternoon for a first round matchup in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
Johns Hopkins is making an astonishing 41st consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. This will be the Blue Jays' 48th home tournament game in school history. Johns Hopkins is a ridiculous 43-4 in the previous 47 home contests, and 10-0 at home under current head coach Dave Pietramala.
Despite a sub-.500 record, Stony Brook won the America East tournament title, and had the unfortunate luck of drawing Johns Hopkins in the first round. This will be the first time Stony Brook and Johns Hopkins have faced each other in men's lacrosse play.
The winner of this matchup will face the winner of the Lehigh and Maryland game.
