The defending national champion Virginia Cavaliers are one win away from once again making the Final Four of the Men's NCAA Lacrosse Championship Tournament. The fifth-seeded Cavaliers will take on the No. 4 seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a quarterfinal battle at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania on Sunday.
Quarterfinal weekend has traditionally seen excellence from the Virginia men's lacrosse program. The Cavaliers have not lost a quarterfinal game since 1998, and have made the Final Four in each of the past four seasons.
It was a bit of a struggle for UVA to make the quarters, though, as the Cavaliers had to squeak out a 6-5 win over the Princeton Tigers in one of the most low-scoring games in tournament history. Notre Dame advanced to the quarterfinals by virtue of a 13-7 win over Yale.
Here is what you need to know for Sunday's game:
Game Day and Time: Sunday, May 20, 2012, 12:00 p.m. ET
