After an upset in the first round of the 2012 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament, the Colgate Raiders ran out of magic against the Duke Blue Devils Sunday afternoon, as their season ended with a 17-6 loss.
Although the Raiders were able to hang with the Blue Devils in the first quarter as they entered the second period tied at 4-4. Duke would blow the game open with a 7-0 second quarter and never looked back.
Robert Rotanz was the star of the game for the Blue Devils, scoring five goals and recording one assist. Fellow attackman Christian Walsh was also able to pick up a hat-trick to go with one assist.
The lone bright spot for the Raiders was the play of Ryan Walsh, who paced the Colgate offense with three goals.
Duke moves on to the National Semifinals where they will face the Maryland Terrapins on May 26.
