A number of past major champions and highly-ranked golfers are among those who have made an early commitment to compete in the 2012 AT&T National, which will take place on the Blue Course at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda between June 28 and July 1.
Among those scheduled to compete, in addition to tournament host, 14-time major winner and 2009 tournament champion Tiger Woods, are:
-Defending tournament champion Nick Watney
-2010 tournament champion Justin Rose
-2007 tournament champion K.J. Choi
-2010 British Open winner Louis Oosthuizen
-2009 PGA Championship winner Y.E. Yang
-2003 U.S. Open winner Jim Furyk
-2003 British Open winner Ben Curtis
-World No. 6 Hunter Mahan
-World No. 13 Adam Scott
-World No. 31 Martin Laird
Players have until Friday, June 22 to commit to playing or withdraw from the field.
The tournament returns to Congressional for the first time since 2009. It was played at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania while Congressional was undergoing renovations in preparation to host the 2011 U.S. Open.
