French Open Results: Venus Williams Knocked Out

As the 2012 French Open continues play, the field begins to thin out as players move through their respective brackets. The No. 1 ranked player Novak Djokovic breezed through his matchup with Blaz Kavcic winning in straight sets (6-0, 6-4, 6-4) to advance in the tournament as expected.

No. 3 seed Rodger Federer looked as if he'd run right through Adrian Unger, but Unger made a match of it winning the third set but Federer was able to take the final set to take the match and move on (6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3).

On the women's side of the tournament No. 1 seed Victoria Azarenka defeated Dinah Pfizenmaier rather easily in straight sets (6-1, 6-1), just as No. 3 seeded Agnieszka Radwanska eliminated Venus Williams in straight sets (6-2, 6-4), as the other Williams sister was bounced.

There were a few upsets in the women's bracket, including No. 8 seed Marion Bartoli getting knocked out by Petra Martic in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 6-3).
