Second round action in the French Open at Roland Garros is in full swing on Thursday afternoon. On the Men's side, Spaniard Rafael Nadal won his second round match against Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, 6-0.
Other ranked winners in the second round include No. 4 Andy Murray, No. 5 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, No. 6 David Ferrer, No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic, No. 12 Nicolas Almagro, No. 13 Juan Monaco, No. 17 Richard Gasquet, No. 19 Milos Raonic, No. 27 Mikhail Youzhny and No. 29 Julien Benneteau. Ranked players that were upset in the second round include No. 24 Philipp Kohlschreiber No. 25 Bernarnd Tomic, No. 28 Viktor Troicki and No. 32 Florian Meyer.
No. 10 John Isner is involved it yet another marathon match, this time against Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu. After splitting the first two sets, the two men are trading games back in forth in the fifth set, tied at 15 games a piece.
On the women's side, No. 9 Caroline Wozniacki won her second round match in straight sets against Austrailian Jarmila Gajdosova, 6-1, 6-4 to move on.
Other ranked winners include No. 4 Petra Kvitova, No. 7 Na Li, No. 10 Angelique Kerber, No. 14. Francesca Schiavone and No. 22 Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. No. 2 Maria Sharapova's match against Ayumi Morita has been delayed.
Ranked women that were upset include No. 16 Maria Kirilenko and No. 19 Jelena Jankovic.
