Politics And Prose Hosts Author Of 'Willie Mays Aikens: Safe At Home'

Earlier this week, SB Nation Studios released a feature, reported by Amy K. Nelson, on the rise, fall, and redemption of former Kansas City Royals star Willie Mays Aikens, who was once sentenced to more than 20 years in jail for cocaine possession and abuse.

We've embedded the video after the jump, and we strongly suggest that you watch it. It's well worth the 10 minutes.

In addition to Amy's video, Aikens' story is being retold in a book, Willie Mays Aikens: Safe At Home. The book's author, Gregory Jordan, will be appearing at the Politics and Prose bookstore on Connecticut Avenue beginning at 1:00 p.m.

If you don't have Caps or Nats tickets or have anything better to do, we highly suggest you go hear Jordan speak. The story is well worth it.
