2012 U.S. Open Odds: Tiger Woods Is Early Favorite

The 2012 U.S. Open gets underway this week at Olympic Club in San Francisco, and this event is the second of the four PGA Grand Slam events. The U.S. Open is traditionally a very tough event with scores usually near or around par, so even the best golfers can struggle.

Once again, Tiger Woods is the early favorite for a major as he is coming off a win at the Memorial tournament two weekends ago. People are saying Woods is back, but the same was said prior to the Masters where Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational two weeks prior, but he ended up in a tie for 40th place at the Masters.

Tiger Woods 6/1
Lee Westwood 10/1
Rory McIlroy 10/1
Luke Donald 12/1
Phil Mickelson 16/1
Dustin Johnson 20/1
Jason Dufner 28/1
Matt Kuchar 28/1
Bubba Watson 30/1
Adam Scott 33/1
Hunter Mahan 33/1
Justin Rose 33/1
Zach Johnson 33/1
Jim Furyk 40/1
Keegan Bradley 40/1
Louis Oosthuizen 40/1
Martin Kaymer 40/1
Nick Watney 40/1
Rickie Fowler 40/1
Steve Stricker 40/1

If Woods is able to prove the oddsmakers right and win the U.S. Open he will be in a tie for the most career U.S. Open wins, along with Willie Anderson, Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan and Jack Nicklaus with four.
