Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, formerly of the Kentucky Wildcats and soon to star for some lucky NBA team in the very near future, was born on September 26, 1993. If you didn't fail elementary school math, you know that would make Kidd-Gilchrist 18 years old.
Michael Jordan announced his retirement from the NBA for a second time on January 13, 1999. Again, if you didn't fail elementary school math, you would know that Gilchrist was five years old when this momentous event occurred.
Kidd-Gilchrist worked out for the Wizards on Friday, which gave Michael Lee of The Washington Post the opportunity to reminisce about a conversation he'd had last week at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.
Michael Kidd-Gichrist said last week that he was 9 when he first saw Michael Jordan play. Me: "When he was with the Wizards?" MKG: "Yeah."

Reporters shook their heads, realizing MKG, 18, never saw CHI MJ. MKG on #wizards MJ: "That wasn’t good Mike? I thought it was good Mike."
