French Open 2012 Results: Nadal, Sharapova Roll On, Wozniacki Upset On Day 7

The third round of the 2012 French Open finished up Saturday. The No. 2 seeds on the men's and women's draws, Rafael Nadal and Maria Sharapova, continued their reign of domination at this year's tournament with straight-set victories. Former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki became the latest upset victim on the women's draw, losing in three sets to No. 23 Kaia Kanepi of Estonia.

Nadal beat Argentina's Eduardo Schwank, 6-1, 6-3, 6-4, in yet another efficient performance for the clay-court maestro. Nadal successfully defended all four of Schwank's break point chances, and scored on 87 percent of his eligible first serves. For his efforts, Nadal gets to face another Argentinian, No. 14 Juan Monaco, in the fourth round.

Sharapova started this year's french open with a double bagel, and continues to put her opponents to shame. On Saturday she downed China's Shuai Peng 6-2, 6-1 to advance. Sharapova notched 27 winners to eight for her opponent, and four aces to zero. She has now lost just five total games through three matches. The Czech Republic's Klara Zakopalova will try to slow down Sharapova in the next round.

No. 9 Wozniacki fell 6-1, 6-7 (10), 6-3 to a very tenacious Kanepi. The Estonian committed 41 unforced errors, but made up for it with 46 winners on the day. She also converted on seven of her 14 break point opportunities while Wozniacki could only turn around four of 11 during the match. Kanepi takes on the Netherlands' Arantxa Rus in the fourth round.
