2012 Wimbledon Results Day 3: Andy Roddick Advances, Rest Of The Americans Struggle

The third day of the 2012 Wimbledon tournament wrapped up on Wednesday afternoon with a few surprises. Tamira Paszek was able to take out No. 7 seeded Caroline Wozniacki. Wozniacki won the first set 7-5, but dropped the final two sets to Paszek 7-6 and 6-4.

American Andy Roddick was able to advance to the next round as he defeated Jamie Baker in straight sets 7-6, 6-4, 7-5. It wasn't easy for Roddick to win however, having to win a tie break in the first set and battling through the next two to take the match.

Outside of Roddick however, Americans in Wimbledon didn't seem to fare so well on Wednesday. Ryan Harrison was knocked out by No. 1 seeded Novak Djokovic in straight sets. Jamie Lee Hampton was also knocked out in straight sets by Heather Watson 6-1, 6-4. Janko Tipsarevic took out American Ryan Sweeting in straight sets, as well.
