2012 Belmont Stakes: I'll Have Another Retired From Thoroughbred Racing

2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I'll Have Another has officially been retired from horse racing. Paul Reddam, the horse's owner, made the announcement Friday afternoon at a press conference at Belmont Park.

From Washington Examiner columnist Rick Snider.

The news that I'll Have Another would be scratched from the Belmont, which trainer Doug O'Neil announced on The Dan Patrick Show Friday morning, will no doubt be a massive blow to both the gate and the gambling receipts at Belmont Park for Saturday's race, which will now run with greatly diminished field.
