2012 Biletnikoff Award Watch List: Virginia Tech Wideout Among 48 Named To List

Virginia Tech wide receiver Marcus Davis has been named to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. announced on Tuesday.

Named after Fred Biletnikoff, the award annually honors college football's most outstanding receiver. The foundation will announce 10 semifinalists on Nov. 12, before narrowing the list down to three finalists on Nov. 19. A winner will be unveiled as part of the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Dec. 6.

Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon was a recipient of the the award last season.

Davis, a rising senior, appeared in 14 games for the Hokies in 2011, starting eight of them, where he caught 30 passes for 510 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged a team-best 17 yards per reception in helping lead Virginia Tech to an appearance in the Sugar Bowl.
