Washington Redskins fans can breath a little easier as of Wednesday morning. The team signed quarterback Robert Griffin III, the second overall pick in this year's draft and already the face of what should be a rejuvenated franchise. Griffin announced the news himself via Twitter.

The team confirmed it with a re-tweet a few minutes later.

The deal is worth $21,119,098 over four years, all of the money is fully guaranteed, according to Albert Breer of the NFL Network.

Griffin missed the first two days of the team's rookie camp this week before he signed a deal. Griffin is the highest picked player to have signed a contract, with first overall pick Andrew Luck and the Colts still working on a deal.

Under the NFL's new rookie salary structure, Griffin can expect a deal worth around $21 million covering four years with an option for a fifth year. The two sides had been haggling over offset language in the contract dealing with guaranteed money should the team release him before the contract expires, an unlikely circumstance.
