USA Vs. France Women's Soccer, 2012 Olympics: Team USA Rallies To 4-2 Win

The United States Women's soccer team struggled out of the gates in London, allowing two goals in the opening 14 minutes. The ladies quickly rebounded and began their run towards their third consecutive gold medal by defeating France 4-2.

Thiney Gaetane opened the scoring with a goal in the twelfth minute followed by a goal by one by Delie Marie-Laurie in the fourteenth minute.

Team USA was sparked by a goal by Abby Wambach in the nineteenth minute. Alex Morgan tied the game before halftime with another goal in the 32nd minute. Morgan added the final goal in the 66th minute to close out the scoring after Carli Lloyd scored to give Team USA the lead in the 56th minute.

Team USA was able to get the most shots on their opponents, getting six shots on the French team's goalie while France could only manage three shots. Other than that it was a very evenly played game with the same number of corner kicks and fouls called on each. Team USA led in possession against France 53%-47%. Team USA's next game will be against Columbia on Saturday starting at 12:00 p.m. EDT.
