2012 London Olympics: United States Women Defeats Colombia In Soccer, 3-0

The United States women's soccer team took on Colombia in their first round game in Group G and came out on the winning side by a final score of 3-0.

The U.S. dominated the game from the outset as they had nine shots on goal to Colombia's to one which is due in part to the way they dominated ball possession, 56 percent to 44 percent.

Megan Rapinoe scored the United States first goal at the 33rd minute which was followed by Abby Wambach scoring the second goal in the 74th minute and Carli Lloyd scoring the final goal at the 77th minute.

Colombia's Nataly Arias, who went to O'Connell High School in Arlington, Va. and later went on to play college soccer at the University of Maryland had a relatively quiet day as she played 71 minutes and suffered two fouls.
