The top seeded player in men's singles at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships has lost as Roger Federer of Switzerland defeated Novak Djokovic of Serbia in the semifinals.
In the first set Djokovic struggled, losing 6-3, but bounced back with a strong 6-3 victory in the second set. The resurgence didn't last for long, though, as Federer won the next two sets 6-4 and 6-3.
The loss is the first for Djokovic in a Grand Slam event since the 2011 French Open after which he won four consecutive Grand Slam events, including the Wimbledon Championships event in 2011.
Federer will move on to face the winner of Friday's match between Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfred Tsonga.
